Hi We are Margi & Doug Erickson of 5 Star Innsitters.
We are the former owners of C.W. Worth House Bed and Breakfast in Wilmington, NC. For 22 years we hosted thousands of guests at our 7 guestroom inn, many of whom returned regularly and some are friends for life. Our goal was also exceeding our guests’ expectations. From the first genuine greeting to the hugs before leaving, we enjoyed all aspects of innkeeping. We served a two-course breakfast menu with consideration for dietary requests. Although we did not cater to any one dietary issue, we accomodated everyone’s needs. We knew we needed breaks and hired relief innsitters when we could.
After 22 years we have sold the inn and are excited to travel a bit and help other innkeepers get the R&R they need. Doug is a ‘handyman’ and can handle issues/repairs as they arise. We are both keen to details. We will provide you with a full written report after our experience at your bed and breakfast. Both Margi & Doug cook the breakfasts and are well versed in ThinkReservations. We would prefer one week or less and wish to stay within North Carolina for the time-being. Eventually we would like to travel to Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Florida and California as we have family members in each of those states.

I have had 12 years of experience successfully owning and operating a Select Registry, 21 room full service Country Inn. The Inn included a restaurant and with the help of a fabulous staff, went from being a mere listing to four diamond status. I also have another 12 years of experience in consulting with B&Bs, Country Inns and restaurants.
My belief is that Great Customer Service is the major key to success in the hospitality business and I truly enjoy making guests feel like they are the most special folks in the world while guests at your B&B or Inn. . .and they are! If you have staff, I work very hard to make them feel comfortable while you are away. I am very proficient at preparing and serving wonderful meals–either using your menus or creating ones while you are away.

We can be there for you so you can take away time to smell the roses! Innkeepers invest hours and hours of time to develop a successful bed and breakfast. Time away for rest and relaxation is important for rejuvenation of the bed and breakfast owners. We know! There are also times when the necessities of family life events also are important for time away, i.e. weddings, funerals, hospital visits…..
As past owners of an award-winning bed and breakfast of 20 years, we can appreciate how important it is to an owner to be confident in the abilities of an innsitter to attend to the inn and its guests. Our goal has always been to be perceptive of guests’ needs, to make them feel comfortable in the bed and breakfast environment, to pay attention to details, and to provide a dining experience for the guests at breakfast.
Our History: In 1997, we established the Deutsche Strasse Bed and Breakfast in New Ulm, MN. At that time, there were no bed and breakfasts in this charming town and we were satisfying a definite need in that town. The Deutsche Strasse received several awards while we were owners, including the Trip Advisor Award of Excellence for several years, the Best Historic Bed and Breakfast in Minnesota, and it was rated as the top bed and breakfast in New Ulm on Trip Advisor.
After 20 years of enjoying our innkeeping career and lifestyle, we sold the business and “retired” to a small town on a river that connects two lakes. We found, though, that after eight months of the quiet life, we missed the role of being hosts. We now offer our applied experience to being innsitters when owners of bed and breakfasts need to get away for pleasure, family, or health. We are looking forward to meeting you!

Our History: Being hard-working entrepreneurs is in our blood! Doug has owned his accounting business since 1981 and I have owned and managed several small business ventures over my over 30-year professional career. In 2007, we purchased a beautiful,1892 Queen Anne Victorian home in Faribault, MN that needed a lot of love. After a whirl-wind 6 months, a totally-renovated and period-correct Historic Hutchinson House B&B was born! We provided authentic hospitality, unparalleled guest relations, sumptuous breakfasts . . . and we did it all ourselves! Over the next 12 years we received several awards, including the Trip Advisor Award of Excellence multiple times, the Best Historic Bed and Breakfast in Minnesota, and were rated as the #1 Bed and Breakfast in Faribault on Trip Advisor.
God truly blessed us with a sale of the property in July 2019, just before the pandemic hit. Luckily, the new owners never intended to use the home to the extent that we did, so no one was harmed financially in the transition. During, and especially after the pandemic, we found we missed the role of being hosts. We now offer our applied experience to innsitters when owners of bed and breakfasts need to get away for pleasure, family, or health. We are looking forward to serving you!

We are Baker & Justin Gold-Smith, a married pair of hospitality professionals with over 25 years collective experience in the industry. We met while pursuing degrees in Hotel & Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, then moved to New York City where we worked for some of the most legendary hotels in the world.
In 2015 we started Gold-Inn Hospitality, providing management and consultation services to owners of independent lodging establishments. We have managed bed & breakfasts and inns from Massachusetts to Utah – establishing and improving systems, processes and products to prepare our clients for success.
We purchased our own motel in Hot Springs, Arkansas in April 2018. After an intensive renovation, we reopened as the Gold-Inn Hot Springs where we lived and worked full time until 2022.

Jeff and Cheryl Bennett are successful partners in Innkeeping. They
currently run Shirley’s Bed and Breakfast in Roanoke, Va since 2016.
Jeff and Cheryl have successfully built their bed and breakfast to be a 5
star experience for guests from all over the world.
Additionally, Cheryl retired as a Registered Nurse in 2022 leaving a 33
year career behind. Jeff is a talented artist who custom builds hot rods
as a hobby after retiring from a family auto collision repair business
that he managed for 25 years.
Jeff and Cheryl currently own and manage a 4 room Inn with a
additional cottage. We run all components of our business to include
reservation management, food service, cleaning and outdoor
maintenance. We have experience in managing customers and the
service they receive based on current and past careers. Cheryl Serv-
Safe certified and holds a Certified Pool Operators certificate. We have
also managed weddings.

large Inns and boutique Bed and Breakfasts covering a vast array of venues, including weddings, wineries-vineyards,

I have an extensive and varied background in the hospitality and service industries for over 30 years. From 2018 to present I have been an interim innkeeper working throughout the country. I have managed inns in high traffic vacation areas such as Cape Cod, MA, Palm Springs, CA, Lake Placid, NY, and Buena Vista, CO. I started my inn career doing spa treatments at a resort inn in Maryland. It was a beautiful Select Registry bed and breakfast on the Chesapeake Bay and a desired destination wedding venue. Previous to innkeeping I owned a spa and hair business. The Maryland inn wanted to add spa treatments to their offerings and reached out to me. They quickly became in need of management help and I stepped into the position. This is where the love of BnB hospitality began for me. I moved into a permanent assistant manager position, then acting manager. When my four children grew to adulthood I took the opportunity to travel as an Interim Innsitter. My original Maryland inn is a place I return to often.
Prior to the BnB world, and sometimes concurrently to running a spa business, I held various positions in event catering including manager, sales, cook, and server. Prior to those positions I worked as a cook in a restaurant that served breakfast and lunch. My varied background gives me a well rounded skill set that helps me to be successful as an interim innkeeper. I thrive in the BnB environment and provide exceptional service treating guests with dignity and kindness. You can feel confident during your absence that your BnB will be in caring, dependable, and capable hands.
Hospitality Experience
Assistant Innkeeper and Acting Manager of a 13 room select registry destination bed and breakfast and wedding venue. Duties included management of the property and staff, wedding sales and event management, reservations, fielding of phone calls and emails, check in’s and check out’s, breakfast preparation and service, staff management, scheduling, maintaining online social media responses and inn tour requests, online review responses, daily & financial reports, laundry and light housekeeping.
- Prepped, cooked, and set up unique buffet breakfasts for large groups of up to 40 people, as well as smaller intimate breakfasts. I enjoy being creative with recipes and presentations. I am comfortable with using house recipes or bringing my own favorites.
- I pride myself on working well with a team of coworkers as well as being confident as a strong manager.
- Thrive on treating each guest with a high level of personal care delivered with professionalism.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in business and have been self-employed most of my career. I know the hard work that goes into growing a business so I understand the feeling of wanting employees that are as enthusiastic and conscientious about your Inn as you are. I will take care of your Inn like it’s my own and take care of your guests like they’re family. With the knowledge I’ve gained in this business you have to expect the unexpected and be easily adaptable, but always with a smile. Having owned a tea party catering business for over 10 years and a cleaning business for over 5 years being an innkeeper is the perfect merging of everything I love to do. I began My Wingman journey in 2006 as a small business initially as a way to supplement my income,
and I have built it into something for which I have great passion. You could say my services extend from
“Ship to Shore”. I have had the pleasure of being First Mate and Chef on a 76’ motor yacht caring for
the guests, preparing meals, and general cleaning of the boat while on short and long trips. My passion
has landed me at several Inns in the Northeast over the years as well as some interim innkeeping in
Florida. I bring to the table a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management combined with 30+ years of
hospitality experience, acquiring many new skills along the way. My favorite part of Innkeeping is taking
care of the guests, and I will treat them with kid gloves while you’re away. Preparing breakfast and
baking delicious treats are my specialty which I enjoy doing for guests as well. In addition, having years
of experience with event planning, you can rest assured if you have a need, I am able to fill in. I will take
care of your property as well as your guests so that you can enjoy time off, go on holiday, or step in
